Part-Time Circulation Clerk
The Suttons Bay Bingham District Library is seeking a part-time Circulation Clerk.
The main job responsibilities are in providing excellent circulation services to all library patrons.

We are looking for an applicant with excellent customer service skills, excellent attention to detail, great communication skills and the ability to maintain workplace confidentiality. As well as working well with the public, the applicant must maintain positive working relationships with library staff and volunteers.

Main job responsibilities include:

  • Providing basic circulation services
  • Working with patron accounts
  • Finding requested items
  • Working with reserved items
  • Working with overdues items
  • Monitoring the circulation@sbbdl.org email account
  • Maintaining library shelves
  • Ability to use and demonstrate digital collection
  • Assisting patrons using desktop computers with basic tasks
  • Assisting patrons in accessing library’s wi-fi
  • Assisting patrons using copy machine to make copies or send images
  • Collecting fees, fines & donations
  • Coordinating MeL interlibrary loan service
  • Monitoring MeL interlibrary loan reports
  • Monitoring overdue reports
  • Processing of new library materials
  • Basic library maintenance
  • Opening and closing the library building

The Circulation Clerk position is 12 hours per week. Typical shifts are 10am-2pm weekdays and two Saturdays per month. The rate of pay is $15.00 per hour with increases available over time and paid time off earned for hours worked. Part-Time Library Page
The Suttons Bay Bingham District Library is seeking a part-time Library Page.
The primary job duty is to keep the library in good order. The Library Page works under the supervision of other library staff and must be at least 16 years old.

We are looking for an applicant who is dependable, can follow directions, is good with detailed tasks, and has good communication skills.

Main job responsibilities include:

  • Maintain library shelves
  • Locate items in library
  • Check in returned items
  • Use of digital collection
  • Assist patrons using desktop computers with basic tasks
  • Assist patrons in accessing library’s wi-fi
  • Assist patrons using copy machine to make copies or send images
  • Processing of new library materials
  • Basic library maintenance
  • Assist other circulation staff as needed
  • Work on supervised projects as needed

The Library Page position is well-suited to the schedule of a high school student. During the school year Pages work 4-6 hours per week, with work scheduled around academic and extracurricular activities. During school breaks and in the summer additional hours are available, typically up to 12 hours per week. The starting rate of pay is $11.00 per hour with increases available over time.
